In July of 2005, it was discovered that at Casa Hogar Santa Julia Don Bosco, A.C., a home for children who cannot live in their homes of origin due to circumstances beyond their control, appalling conditions existed: crumbling buildings, overflowing sewerage, leaky roofs, dangerous remnants of emergency construction repairs, a lack of decent or adequate food, mold, poor lighting, and more than 30 children in the care of a few Catholic Sisters whose primary means of support was taking the girls begging in the streets daily. It was determined that the children and those who would follow should be safe, secure, educated, and as well adjusted to adulthood as possible. Since then, a number of amazing things (the Madres call them miracles) have been done to enable the children to enroll in school, get adequate food, and make their living arrangements more hygienic, but the overarching need to give Casa Hogar Santa Julia Don Bosco, A.C., the wherewithal to sustain itself is still at hand. Please, learn what you can from this website and contact info@santajulia.org to become a miracle maker! Contact us at info@santajulia.org, 152-3709 in SMA, or 925-418-8003 from the US/Canada.
